how it works

During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which intentionally damages the hair follicles within the skin preventing future growth. Laser hair removal is normally done in very small sections. DiolazeXL allows your technician to treat a much larger segment of skin on each application.

How to prepare and care for a DiolazeXL treatment

There are a few steps to properly prepare for your laser hair removal treatment:

  • Arrive with treatment area shaved with a new razor.

  • Ensure to arrive to your appointment with clean skin (do not apply spf or moisturizer).

  • No plucking, waxing or tweezing for 6 weeks prior to and after treatment.

  • No excessively tanned skin from sun. Avoid tanning beds, tanning creams or sprays within 3-4 weeks of treatment.

  • If you have a history of cold sores, an anti-viral should be prescribed before the treatment.

  • Accutane (Isotretinoin) should not be used within 6 months of treatment.

  • Use at least 30spf for a minimum of 3 weeks following treatment.

what to know

Areas with tattoos or permanent makeup can not be treated. The number of treatments is typically varied from 4-10 sessions every 4-8 weeks. As treatment proceeds, the intervals become longer. If package of 6 is purchased and client only requires 4 or 5 sessions, treatments will be banked for touch ups if needed or used for another similar sized area. Touch-up treatment session may be needed for sporadic new hair growth due to individual physiological processes.
